ALTA/ACSM SURVEYS
An ALTA Survey is made for the Title Company and/or Lender. It is used for the issuing of the title or mortgage insurance. ALTA stands for American Land Title Association. The survey map is drawn to their specifications. A completed "Table A" is provided by the client and is a checklist of required information of the survey work.
ALTA typically requires boundary lines, ancillary building locations, and easement identification. These are very complex surveys and can cost several thousand dollars for the completion of such projects which may take weeks. Most ALTA surveys are executed on commercial properties.
An ALTA Land Survey is guaranteed to meet the requirements of an ALTA/ACSM Land Title Survey as provided by the American Land Title Association, National Society of Professional Surveyors, and the American Congress on Surveying and Mapping.
